I'm about to take my VW R32 to over 600hp at the wheels with a couple more tweaks. We've cared about the details in SRS because we're fans ourselves. How will SRS make its mark, you know, to distinguish itself for those fans in the dub/mod community? Robert Zalot: Well first off, Street Racing Syndicate is all about the import tuner fans. IGN: There are so many kinds of import tuner games coming out this year, the range of which includes EA, Acclaim, Rockstar, and Namco. What makes it special? Why should a real import tuner gearhead even look at this quietly touted game, when other big name franchises are coming your way? In an email interview that turned out immensely passionate and articulate, Zalot chronicles us how he feels about the import scene, SRS's deep set of modes, the stellar new dyno mode, and eh-hem, the competition. With this glut of import tuner racing games all coming out this fall, we asked Namco's producer Robert Zalot, a 15-year veteran of the industry who most recently worked on Dead To Rights, to pinpoint how SRS stands out from the pack. There's Namco's SRS, and after that Acclaim's got Juiced, Rockstar's touting Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition, and Electronic Arts is touting Need For Speed Underground. It's easy to see why when you take an eagle's eye look at this fall's racing lineup. Due in late August, Street Racing Syndicate has been unfortunately overlooked.
